Now "private"
It showed the aircraft looping, then at the bottom of the loop disappearing behind trees while still descending but I think with the nose up at that point. Then there was an explosion and flaming debris from right to left. It looked as though it slid along the ground rather than dived into it. I'm hoping that talk of the pilot 'pulled from the wreckage' refers to an ejected pilot in the debris field but it doesn't look good.

Sounds very similar to the fairey firefly crash i witnessed about 12-13 years ago at Dux. Stalled at the bottom of the loop as they ran out of room. Condolences to those affected.

Any confirmation of which Hunter it was?

Oh! Why did have to come down on the road - so unfortunate. A few yards further might have made all the difference frown

Gutted absolutely gutted for those poor people frown

Very sad and classic British understatement on the video.

I think it was a T7 piloted by Andy Hill.

+1

He was a former Harrier instructor.

These videos should be given to air investigators

Is it just me or does this year seem to have had more air show incidents then previous years? Whats going on?

Very different to the Firefly crash at Duxford (and yes I was there)

Sadly, this seems to be the first fatal incident involving members of the public at a UK show since John Derry's crash at Farnborough in 1952.

Very sad for all.

I had intended going today, but had too much on, so was going to try and go tomorrow, but, I'm guessing show may well be cancelled for tomorrow, understandably if so.

Jesus, that looked like it was wrong from the word go. Can only have been 150ft AGL at the start. Think he tried to roll out but far too low.
