There is a conspiracy theorist at work. I asked him about chem trails. He said that "they" are putting "chemicals" in the air to control the food. He couldn't expand on what chemicals or in what way they controlled food. I had just read a Haynes Manual on the 747 and said that I didn't recall seeing anything about chemical application tanks and asked where they put these chemical. He said in the fuel. So, what ever chemical it is it has to be able to mix with fuel, get pumped into the engine, burned, survive the high combustion temperatures AND still work. scratchchin. When I say work, I'm still unclear what it is they do.

Any road, we chuck a few chemicals on fields here so I did some sums. A typical application rate for Roundup is 4 litres of chemical per hecatare in 196 litres of water, giving a total volume of 200 litre/ha. Soooo, I had a look at the wing span of an A380 and it's range and discovered that were it to apply 4 litres of chemical (not the total volume of solution) per hectare over the range it can cover, it would need to carry over 400 tonnes of chemical alone, never mind water, and never mid fuel, cargo, passengers and itself.

This is quite a good video explaining for the hard of thinking.

Just ask them what volume is required then point out the issues with respect to volume of available cargo weight on a plane vs sea going liner volume required to fulfil the chemtrail. Then point out the difference in size between the two and ask can they see the issue yet?

You only need a couple of drops because they're homeopathic mind control drugs.

I do love all the conspirisory stuff, while I certainly don't believe it all by any means I do think that there's an element of truth in some stuff. For centuries governments or royals have committed acts against people, I do wonder if the time when things happened people realised?

In future will children be learning about tony Blair the war monger for example?

Anyway, regarding chemtrails, I don't believe it, however why do some planes omit a trail while others don't. I was watching from my conservatory earlier several planes, one left a trail which I estimate was around 80+ miles (going by flight radar) this was at 40k ft. Some others at similar heights were either not leaving a trail or just a small one.

I've met paranoid schizophrenics who believe in this sort of nonsense, but it's quite sobering to meet someone who believes it simply because they're thick as mince.

Just because now and then politicians are economical with the truth is no reason to become a certified idiot - which seems to be the leap certain people make.

As for variable levels of vapour trails - different altitudes is the obvious reason who some aircraft trail and others don't. There are other reasons too. Some fuel may contain more water droplets than others - it depends on the source of the fuel. Temperature variations of both the air and the engines will cause variations.

ALL exhausts can generate water vapour in certain conditions - even at ground level. Just look at a car on a cold day - or even peoples' breath.

As with moon hoax conspirators, chem trail believers just betray their total lack of any sort of actual knowledge of science or nature.

Fools are best ignored.

Eric, the water in the exhaust isn't coming from droplets in the fuel, it's coming from the combustion of the hydrogen in hydrocarbon fuels

Noted. It is water though.

But its the chemicals they are spraying plus the directed microwave energy that causes the psychosis.

Those who beIieve this will of course be protected by the tinfoil on their head. I think it's very nice of them to draw it to the attention of those who don't have any.

In terms of the way we generally think of it, I might be inclined to side with the bloke from work.

No.
To be fair, the trails left by jet ARE chemicals in the strict sense of the term! biggrin

All materials made up of separate elements are chemicals of some sort, I suppose.
