Does anyone have any timings for when it will be going through which station? - I work in Stevenage, almost next door to the station. If I get the train that arrives at 8:11, by my reckoning I'll be between Hitchin & Stevenage when it goes past.

If you keep an eye on the UKSteam site: http://www.uksteam.info/tours/trs16.htm then a day or so before the run, a link to the times should appear in the brief details. It will say [Times] in blue after the excursion name.

Cheers, chap. 8:20 through Stevenage, and my usual train gets in at 8:11. Ideal.

Just had a skynews alert on my phone.
Saying all trains stopped due to large amount of trespassers on the line.

Welwyn Viaduct I think! It's where I wanted to be this morning, but got stuck on the A1 slip road and had to wtach it from there.

What a media circus today - and how can low flying such as this by the BBC News helicopter be legal?? yikes

Seems to break every rule in the book if this is to be believed:

Went for a look just south of York, lovely old chap had his video camera set up for a great view through a gap in the hedge, about 50 yards from the track. As the FS approached he was left with the sight & sound of that helicopter filling the viewfinder. He was really upset having waited around 2 hours in very cold conditions.

Very good... Do love seeing a steam train at full pelt, something you don't get to see on heritage lines.
