I do love wandering around the halls and chatting to professionals who work in aerospace. I find it more interesting than a simple "air display" and for me it is the one unique thing Farnborough has to offer over normal airshows.
I am sure if you do a compulsive buy on a 747 -8 the yanks will be happy.

Will fill up the order books until the US chief gets his couple smile

I was chatting to a guy one year who was selling fire fighting conversions of 747s. I didn't quite have enough in my wallet to make a purchase.

Hello hope i can help in some way

TRAIN To the Show is best bet. From London Waterloo to Farnborough Main station
very frequent Trains on arrival there is outside a FREE Bus service into the
show Entrances . TAXI also Available but Expensive. Walk to show takes 25minutes
Food and Drink Very Expensive so be prepared.
Weather Last few Days has been very very Wet so again be prepared.

Are you the Tony who runs the 'Farnborough Spotter' twitter account? If so you are the most popular man in our office during the Airshow weeks as you are our cue to run into the carpark to watch the planes.

Weve heard how car dealers use sublte techniques to filter serious enquiries from the fimewasters. I wonder what techniques a missile, Su27 or 747-8 salesman uses!! Is it during or after the test flight???

Going on the Friday - is there any way to see what will be flying before the day?
The Friday comes under the trade site on the website so no details.

If the query comes from someone wearing shorts, a baseball cap and is wearing a back pack - then they may very well be correct in assuming that might be speaking to a time waster.

On the other hand, I have found that many "salesmen" (and women) on the various stands are very happy to talk to anybody who expresses an interest in the product they are selling. I've had chats with people selling shoulder launched missile systems, single stage to orbit space vehicles,. infra-red and laser defence systems for airliners, undercarriage assemblies for airliners etc etc.

I haven't bought a single missile yet.

Alot that is showing as displaying haven't been added to the movement sheet yet as they presumably haven't filed a flight plan. Soon as I see anything interesting added, I'll pop it in here. Most arriving on the Monday and Tuesday.

No idea I'm afraid on my sheet as an Electra L188?

L188 is definitely an Electra rather than an Orion. That should be good to see as Electras have always been rather rare beasts this side of the Atlantic - especially now that there are so few of them left.

I'm still not convinced. The only airworthy Electra's are with Canadian fire-fighting companies and I haven't seen any info they any of them are sending one across for the show. An Orion would make much more sense.

Validation due at 2pm I believe.
There was a hornet based at FAB during the 2014 show, which would often disappear first thing then re-appear later.
