As long as most people's Hornbys models are LNER Apple green then that's really what it should be...
There comes a point where perfect technical accuracy can be sacrificed for modern practicality. I would guess as a train, it's going to be much more popular and make the NRM more money in that livery.
Plus, more importantly, I prefer it that way

I agree the deflectors spoil the look, but according to this article:

There is a good reason for them being there.

That's what I've always used. It's a bit annoying that we can't see it due to a few idiots, but a guess that's always the way.
I would have thought that if more people knew where and when it was, then they could plan a safe point to see it from, rather than last minute panic to get somewhere quickly.
Will keep looking on line for any possible times.
Thanks Andy.

To me it's frustrating that there are so many steam-hauled specials around that the people who are causing this kind of issue have no need, they could just spread themselves out over the many locos that are around. I believe that many of them wouldn't realise if you swapped Scotsman for the Royal Scot, other than the colour, so it wouldn't make it any less enjoyable for them to go and see one of the others.
It goes past (well I can 'just' see the railway from my front window) my house on Sunday at some point but I'm booked in at a car show so I'd hoped to see it as it travels up the EC line on Saturday. Don't fancy sitting beside the railway all day either! Is there a tracker you can use like the plane/boat ones?
