I know it's a little early to start this, but the yanks have just confirmed the F35 for this year!

Hope it doesn't melt the runway like the Yak 141 did in 1992.

Which day is the best day to go to the Airshow I've never been before?

I prefer Friday. It's actually a trade day that is open to the public. The displays on Saturday and Sunday (the actual public days)are different and the exhibition halls aren't open either on the weekend either.

Looking around the Exhibition Halls is something that I'd like to do, so I'll go on the Friday. Would it be worth going for the runway enclosure ticket or just the standard ticket?

Get an enclosure ticket if you want to sit down and actually view the flying.

It depends on what you want to do. My favourite part of the show is walking around the static display and talking to the people who are "manning the aeroplanes" and answering questionsfrom the public. I always enjoy a chat with these people. Last time I was invited to wander around inside a Percival Pembroke.

I've just bought Runway Enclosure tickets for the Friday. Just hope the weather is going to be nice now.

Thanks, I was trying to remember what year I probably damaged my hearing - that was it! I was in the old press photographer enclosure right by the flight line and the flippin' noisy thing sat on re-heat right in front of me(I gave up filming as it was so painful - no ear defenders in those days...)

I'd actually say the Monday/Tuesday is the better day to go due to most of the cool stuff departing before the weekend when you get the civil acts that you'll see at every other show.

How are the public meant to go to when it's a trade show during the week?

If you know the right people, you can sometimes be admitted as a "guest". I've been lucky enough to avail of that over the years.
Other times, I've had to make do with a public day.

As I said previously, Friday is still technically a trade day but it is also open to the public - although you do need to buy the ticket in advance.

Parked outside my workshop.
After melting the tarmac on runway 11/29 he had to revise his show display.

Hopefully, you should be able to visit the exhibition halls. They are well worth a visit. I always enjoy chatting to the people who man the stands as they always seem very enthusiastic and happy to discuss what they are doing - whether it be designing 747 water bombers or building single stage to orbit space planes.

Anyone can go on a trade day if they dress a bit smart, can make up a company name and fill a form out...

Eric,
the FIA website, or just turn up on the day and buy a ticket. I'm pretty sure that is what I did in 2014. They really don't check at all that you are a bonafide 'trade' visitor. Though admittedly I DID have a semi-legit reason to go workwise, but they didn't know that.
