I think they were dealing with a pain in the backside, from the knowing looks they gave each other when describing him as 'particular'

The kind of guy who says 'Jeez, can nobody take any iniative? Do I have to do everything!?" When they stop the job to ask him.

and then says "Christ, you guys are hopeless, next time you need to check with me first!" when they don't.

Not to my taste at all, but are they any good as actual boats?
They are mid-market boats that are marketed well. They are one of a few manufacturers offering a similar proposition and each manufacture executes slightly differently.

You get what you pay for works both ways - looking at the strong vein running across the shower wall if I was Sunseeker I would have never installed it in the first place without the client signing it off.
Hi Matthew
Are you commenting on the marble based on any professional experience
or just your personal view?
Paul
Purely personal. If I was in the position to pay £20m+ for a boat then an extra 50k or so to not be annoyed by the shower wall every morning would be nothing. Carved up with a sink in the middle it would have looked fine, stuck on the wall it was the very first thing I'd notice every day.

And if I was building the boat, why take the risk of putting that slab in? No client is going to complain if the line isn't there.

Although I don't have 20m for a boat, or work in project management at a boat building company, so my opinion isn't exactly worth much.

My wife said she wouldn't hire her - as i'd be perving too much!

My reply was "Why would I be looking at a young 6' blonde when I have you dear" don't think she believed me...

The Chef certainly had a nice rack for her spices. Perhaps she is saving up for a bigger blouse and a longer skirt. I hope not...

I found it amusing when the Captain was proudly mentioning that they were "girlfriend and boyfriend" and then the chef pointed out that the Captains are usually in a relationship with a crew member, as they hire and fire. In other words, she's with him for the lifestyle and job.

The skirt was part of the uniform. I noted that none of the people that worked on the boats was ugly

That's quite a logic leap...

Probably not worded very well.

The Captain makes all the recruitment decisions - who to hire and who to fire. She's making sure she doesn't get let go. I may be wrong but.....

You wouldn't want to be paying tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars a week to have munters knocking around, would you?!

Finally watched this last night, I thought it was quite an enjoyable programme but then I do enjoy these wealthy-lifestyle things if they're done properly. Most of the staff they talked to seemed very nice, though I took an unreasonable dislike to some of the staff they showed in the London showroom (perhaps because I'd read the comments on here first, perhaps because of the massive watches that just happened to be visible every time the camera panned round) but on the whole I think the company came across very well. I didn't have a problem with the marble around the sinks, but the veining in the shower just looked like it was all going mouldy, I think I'd never be sure whether it was clean. As if it's ever going to be my problem.

Can't believe the sales staff get 1% of the sale price as commission.

Nothing wrong with marble.
Itn fact I thought it was quite nice and I know it's expensive .
The buyer might not like it but that's his personal opinion.
He doesn't have to like it.Its like asking someone what their favourite colour is.
We won't all like the same thing.
They are obviously making enough at the sale price to be able to change finishes.
Would be surprised if their margin wasn't 30-40%

I thought they had agreed to go 50/50 on the cost.
Did I miss something?

Yes you may be.

If you really think that the world is full of beautiful women shagging their bosses to keep their jobs then you probably need to start giving the 24 hour pornhub sessions a swerve...

It was a silly detail that took up too much airtime. First the buyer didn't want it but they fitted it anyway, then (not surprisingly) the buyer wanted it removed which Sunseeker said would cost them £100K, then they agreed to go 50/50 on the cost, then the owner decided to keep it. There's a few dots that don't join up.

Just goes to show that if you give the customer what they ask for, you'll have a much easier life.
