Think he's sold it.
Never used 'FlightRadar', but I often get told where I've been - which suggests 'big brother' is watching. Presumably it interrogates the squawk from Mode Sierra transponders?
ADS-B transponders, largely. Never used 'FlightRadar', but I often get told where I've been - which suggests 'big brother' is watching. Presumably it interrogates the squawk from Mode Sierra transponders?
Also MLAT calcs from non-ADS-B aircraft.
I run a receiver station which feeds FlightRadar and FlightAware.

Just watched a plane squawk 7700, then divert back to EDI (UA2081) - turns out it's the same one that performed an emergency landing there the day before due to a fuel leak. Comments on Twitter suggesting it stopped off runway too.
Not that this should be a 7700 thread, but today an Iran Air A300 diverted into Vienna with an emergency, took off again, and has just diverted into Istanbul with another emergency!Their new deal with Airbus can't come quick enough

Got a "cool starry bra" about the Queen's helicopter. The Queens Helicopter Flight TQF1R*

A relative of mine is a high court sheriff (sort of super bailiff) and he was at an aerodrome once trying to find an aircraft to "clamp".
Walking through different hangars, he came across a locked hanger, he forced entry (he's allowed to on business premises) and inside was a boxed off area. Trying to get into this area, he tripped an alarm or something as all of a sudden he was surrounded by "Men in black".
Turns out, after a lot of identification showing and phonecalls that he was trying to break into the Queen's helicopter compound.
It may be bulls**t, but it was a good story.
