adsbexchange appears to be picking up More military planes at the moment, two Boeing tc135w out of East Anglia and operating over the North sea, yesterday there was an Australian plane no detail passing up the country, a long way from home.
The Aussie was a new C-27J on delivery from Italy to L-3 Comms in the USA for outfitting.
Thanks, answers why it was a long way from home.

Noticed the AEW circling over North Yorkshire at the same time there was an American Army Intel plane circling on the coast near Redcar before heading north.

yesterday noticed 4 American KC135 tanker aircraft setting off together, really curios what they were up to, that's an awful lot of airborne fuel, they headed down across Spain, wondered if they were heading for the Gambia.

Excuse a newbie question but when these guys are doing Mach speeds are they in a special air corridor ?
I mean if you were mr easyJet you would wet your pants if that tornado shot past you at that speed

I think it's just the website showing knots and someone has converted it into MPH (in red) as most people can relate to that better.

Speed for those is calculated by MLATing so is wildly inaccurate - take it with a pinch of salt.

They don't fly supersonic much over land as it has a nasty habit of breaking people's windows. Out at sea there tends to be special military areas set aside for them to practice in, either well above or below the commercial traffic (often in a different area altogether). I've been diverted around these a few times recently when they've been active; mostly up over the North Sea.
