Was looking around her old Westland Wessex last weekend at Weston helicopter museum. Probably restored but still looks the part.

Is anyone using the new Android app?

I've downloaded it but the reviews are not good.

I hadn't realised Mablethorpe was so interesting. Any ideas?

He's been out again today, lots of racetrack patterns off Cleethorpes.
This would have been a Voyager AirTanker from Brize Norton. It will be doing paperclip patterns over the North Sea whilst refueling fighter aircraft.

Edited to correct FFT (fat finger troubles)

Just me or is it a bit of a big plane to be going to Cardiff?

And travelling in the wrong direction at that!

BA has a maintenance facility at Cardiff. Originally for its 747 fleet, but I understand they service other types there too now. I went on a tour there when I was on ATC camp at St Athan years ago.

As for the wrong direction, I guess they might have gone the long way round to do some testing en-route?

I know there's a separate thread about it but NATS the uk air traffic provider have made an excellent flight tracking app with UK radar positions, for the rest of he world they have flight aware data. It's also got loads of airport, controled airspace and many other great features.

Just checked and it's had the destination updated to Manila, route and plane now make far more sense

Looks great, just a shame that it appears to be iPad only

If you have an iPad then NATS have released their Airspace Explorer app and its very good - if you click on an airport it shows you all the flights that are inbound to it and their tracks for example.

Details: http://www.nats.aero/news/uk-air-traffic-control-p...

Download (or search in the app store): https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/nats-airspace-expl...

Not on FR24 but on ADSBexchange, we have an RAF A400 ZM400 currently doing circuits here at LBA at the moment, flying as COMET85. First time I've ever seen one or heard one. They have quite a distinctive drone to them. I thought it was some kind of old WW2 prop flying about when I first heard it.
