The US MIL were flying one of these bad boys over NW Germany two days ago....

Blocked a big bit of airspace (huge in fact), but luckily at v. high Flight Levels.

No FR24 shot unfortunately, I had to make do with a live radar screen instead wink
If they're unmanned, how do you go about communicating with the operator? Presumably they still need ATC clearances etc
and what makes you think it wasn't ze germanz??

Another website to look at, but it doesn't have aeroplanes on it, is www.skyvector.com where you can mess around with the layers and put up weather satellite pictures on it. It shows where the daily tracks across the North Atlantic will go.
Look at a similar one before I go to work to see how busy it is going to be!
I like the ship trackers to, as we have to wait for cars to be built overseas and you can track the car carriers on their long journeys out here.

Not so much cool but just now a flight has just declared an emergency and is losing height at 1800 ft per minute. Has turned around so hopefully in full control and will be a safe landing for all on board.

Catalina just flew directly over my house an hour or so ago, not on flight radar though! Not much more than 1000ft up, very low cloud here in Bristol, sounded lovely...
