French fuel strikes
Discussion
Close to the EU referendum, is the almost total lack of reports on the French fuel strikes (that will impact us along with many other tourists) due to not wanting bad press about France?

We're off on Friday but with a car that manages at most 300 miles to a tank and a villa in the south east just north of Monaco, we're reconsidering our options. Better to not attend a villa we've paid for than attempt to make it and fail.

Seriously, the Le Mans section....this is national news and it's hidden in the Le Mans section!!
Did anyone else see the French police car being set on fire with the police men still inside, then the police guy getting out, being smacked by the protester repeatedly, then letting the guy get away.
I'll look for a link later.

You talk about an almost total lack of reports and then link to one of the biggest news sites in the UK.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-36371690

I think it is being under reported, only really heard about it on international news in an airport last week.

Does anyone have any information about how long this might go on for or what the likely outcome is?
I'm looking at driving over on Friday also, got an email from eurostar telling me to fill up before leaving the UK but I certainly don't have enough petrol for the plans I have over there and getting back to calais again.

There is another thread on here. Someone drove over today and reports that there are no problems on the autoroute. I'm going on Saturday, fingers crossed the water cannons and tear gas will have done the trick by then.I'm looking at driving over on Friday also, got an email from eurostar telling me to fill up before leaving the UK but I certainly don't have enough petrol for the plans I have over there and getting back to calais again.
