Who's going then? Honestly, the lineup so far is probably the best one we've had in years. Seems to get better every year. 2017 is also USAF anniversary so should be a cracker next year too!

Saw the F35 at Miramar 2014 and it's fantastic. Not a fan of the plane but it's good to see. F22 will be fantastic too.

I'll be there on the Sunday, not been for a couple of years but yeah the lineup looks good this year, looking forward to it!

I've not been on a Sunday before but had to this year as I'm working on the Saturday, does anyone know if i'll miss out on anything by going just on the Sunday?

It's a shame the Textron Scorpian isnt flying, would be a great opportunity for them to build on the good test feedback from the UK last year. I think its a brilliant concept and hope it is a success

Yup, I'll be there on Friday and Saturday with my son.
It's going to be his first airshow (but he doesn't know yet).

No you shouldn't do mate, unless something breaks down on the Saturday that is irreparable, or torrential downpour, everything should be relatively the same!

What a fantastic airshow to be his first, although might be setting the bar a bit high as everything after this won't be as good winklaugh

Funny that many said last year was probably the peak and it wouldn't be bettered for a long, long time, yet it's looking rather spectacular this year already.

RIAT 1985 was my first big airshow. Loved it.
Apart from the fact I turned down tickets to this thing called "Live Aid" ( I didn't know what it was when they were offered)

I hadn't planned to go as 558 isn't flying anymore, the lineup makes me think I might just change my mind!

Tickets bought for Friday, we'll make a long weekend of it and stay over locally for some sight seeing on Saturday and Sunday.
Be quick! Saturday now sold out, only Friday and Sunday available now.

Good for you and normally I'd have gone for the discount on offer. Wasn't sure if we'd be able to go back then.

I dunno why I haven't camped yet, RIAT is probably my favourite event of the entire year, might consider it next year.

It'll be my first year of camping, I've done FRIAT now for 2 years but driving to & from Birmingham daily with 5am starts didnt appeal to me this year!

unfortunately we don't have many chances -or no chances at all I'd rather say- to see such a show down here. You can get the Frecce Tricolori and maybe the Typhoon or Tornado doing a display, but that's it. There's usually no way to get anywhere near the planes as at RIAT.
As we're doing the trip to UK, it's worth doing it for good smile

If you can get to see the tornado that's pretty good going! That thing is an extremely rare sight at airshows in the uk these days! frown

I think the only one still performing in Italy is the one belonging to the Reparto Sperimentale Volo in Pratica di Mare (Rome).
I saw it last time at RIAT2014, last year I didn't go to any airshow. I truly hope it will keep flying.
