Have to be bought in advance and I can't commit to definitely going until the actual day, rhymes was great for that and also for decent viewing without being 3 miles away courtesy of the 'elf and safety idiots
Fair enough but I've always thought the distance of crowd line is great. Update - 23/06/16
Additions:
The US Navy makes a return appearance with the F/A-18 Super Hornet in the flying display and a P-8 Poseidon in the static aircraft line up.
Poland's Navy will bring an Antonov AN-28B1R Bryza to the static display.
The Royal Australian Air Force makes a return after 10 years with a KC-30A tanker/transport.
QinetiQ supplies an Agusta A109E and Alpha Jet for the static display.
We can now confirm that P-51D 'Miss Helen' will be taking to the skies as part of the F-22 / F-35A Heritage Flypast.
French Aerobatic champion Aude Lemordant will display her Extra 330SC. Breitling Wingwalkers return with a three-ship formation display and a single aircraft in the static line-up.
No. 72 Squadon, RAF, will provide a Shorts Tucano for the static display line up.
In addition to the static, the Spanish Air Force will also provide a Eurofighter EF2000 for the flying display

Getting in early, the lesser spotted plane spotter can be seen legging it faster than Linford after a dodgy curry on the way to bog to get the fence line, I did find that amusing.
But there are some serious camera lenses out to play, I can but dream on that ownership.
Last year we did the Saturday walk around and sat on the grass on the Saturday then booked a seat in a stand on the Sunday, very relaxed on the Sunday and with catering and toilets all to ourselves (the stand that is).
Me and my friend walk at a casual pace and have got front row 2/2 tries now. Very relaxed But there are some serious camera lenses out to play, I can but dream on that ownership.

Same here, many years of walking in, it's fine for a 'front row' spot, and we enter on one of the routes that's a bloody long walk from the gate to anywhere that's not basically hanging off the end of the runway.
It's an incredibly relaxed day if you're there ready for gates opening, I'm glad more don't do it!
Let's not tell em how bloody awesome it is then! It's an incredibly relaxed day if you're there ready for gates opening, I'm glad more don't do it!

Right thread this time....
We can't unfortunately make it to Fairford this year as we have a stag do to attend on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday! However we are thinking of doing a dog leg to get there and stopping near Fairford to see the F35. (Hopefully in the earlier part of the session)
Could someone that is going post the hours it is flying when the program is released. Either reply in this thread or PM me?
If it is later in the day on Friday we will probably miss it :-(

Excellent thanks! So lunchtime Friday would be perfect! If someone can confirm on Friday morning once they have a program in hand I would be immensely grateful.
We will be miles away on Saturday and Sunday so must be Friday.
App will be more up to date than a programme that was printed last week We will be miles away on Saturday and Sunday so must be Friday.
I'd say it's certain those times are correct.

Having worked RIAT for unite a few years I can guarantee you will get stuck in hours of traffic unless you depart early. 2 yeas ago a friend was stuck in 3 hours of traffic at 9am. He arrived at 12. So I guess that's your answer arrive at 9
They might as well just turn up 2 hours earlier in that case and enjoy the whole thing Kermit power said:
So, what's likely to be the best parts of the display on Sunday?
I'm hoping for something to beat my previous most spectacular flypast, (a Lancaster flanked in V formation by Hurricanes, Spitfires, Phantoms and Tornadoes) but I don't really know which of the display teams to look out for?
The US heritage flight. P51, F22, F35.. I'm hoping for something to beat my previous most spectacular flypast, (a Lancaster flanked in V formation by Hurricanes, Spitfires, Phantoms and Tornadoes) but I don't really know which of the display teams to look out for?
F35 getting 'refuelled' by a KC130.
Red arrows F35 fly past.
F22 solo display is going to be my favourite.

I'm going on sunday- thank you so much for posting the flight times.
Does anyone have any top tips for a first timer? i'm taking my 15 year old nephew- last time I went to an airshow was when I was 15!
thinking about aiming to get there for 0830, and taking comfy shoes and sunnies.
Should I take my full on ear defenders or will ear plugs be enough- do I need anything?

You will be stuck in traffic for an hour or two if you get there at 8:30
