I have to say I really enjoyed the Frecce Tricolori, not sure if it was the enthusiastic commentary or just that their display seemed to have a bit more flair than the Red Arrows. How come they were allowed to fly over the crowd for their final manoeuver?

Same reason the red arrows are allowed to fly over the crowd for their opening manoeuvre.

I've kept 354 out of 3000, 12% of my photos

Think that's a pretty good ratio, no?

Let the processing commence...

Well, a 300mm that I am trying to keep away from the 300 bit as its soft. And messing with a trial version of DxO Optics Pro 11.

Just finished my photos, 150 keepers which I was really pleased with. First time with some proper kit (Nikon D750 and Nikon 200-500mm f5.6), so much fun, want to do at least two days next year!

Can I ask you photography guys – is the photography central to your enjoyment of the airshow, or would you also go just to watch the planes?

As I only attended one day I used my Motorsport approach to the day, half taking photos, half watching the show (for the airshow that meant splitting each display in two). Saying that, with a full-frame camera and 500mm lens it's like having a large crystal clear window to watch the action up close when your eye is up to the viewfinder, I don't feel I'm missing anything when I'm shooting, if anything I'm seeing more.

Next year I want to do Park and View for pure photography then just go and watch at the weekend.
