The fact that the plane spotter is weighed down with three cameras, eight lenses, a packed lunch the size of a buffet, his notebooks, umbrella and rucksack full of spre clothes also helps.

Something big and heavy just came in apparently, my brother heard it from Old Town, Swindon...
I'm sat in the office in Swindon approx 5 miles from Fairford overlooking the A419, i heard it too, sadly low cloud cover at the moment so couldn't see it but must have been very large as our office windows were vibrating. Heard a couple of overhead passes this morning so sounds like there is some movement starting.

Right thread this time....

We can't unfortunately make it to Fairford this year as we have a stag do to attend on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday! However we are thinking of doing a dog leg to get there and stopping near Fairford to see the F35. (Hopefully in the earlier part of the session)

Could someone that is going post the hours it is flying when the program is released. Either reply in this thread or PM me?

If it is later in the day on Friday we will probably miss it :-(

Not sure where you are located, but if you happen to be near Farnborough at 2pm tomorrow......

According to the air tattoo app the USAF F35, F22 and Mustang heritage flight will be displaying at 12:05 on Friday, and 12:20 on Saturday and Sunday. And the Red Arrows, F35 and Typhoon fly past and displays are at 14:15 on Friday and 15:30 on Saturday and Sunday.

Excellent thanks! So lunchtime Friday would be perfect! If someone can confirm on Friday morning once they have a program in hand I would be immensely grateful.

We will be miles away on Saturday and Sunday so must be Friday.

App will be more up to date than a programme that was printed last week smile

I'd say it's certain those times are correct.

When we went last year I didn't think the app had the times. There was a paper slip in the programme with the times on.

Downloading the app now.

Thanks.

If one wanted to arrive at midday what would the traffic be like? I.e how far would you queue from etc? We are only an hour and a half away on a clear day.

Do you mean arrive actually inside the airfield public areas at midday....or just get to the back of the queue of traffic at midday..?
And on which day?

TBH, which ever it is is far too late in the day.

Not worth it, I'd say. Get there at 7

Sorry for the lack of info, ideally arrive to the airfield at 12 so we can watch the displays. I would love to do the whole day as I have in previous years but going to have a 9 year old with me who will probably be bored after 8 hours of planes.

Trying to work out how we can turn up at a reasonable time, see all the Jets the kid would like and then get away etc.

I'm taking my 10 year old daughter and I've told her we'll be leaving home at about 5am to arrive at 7am! Have not been for loads of years but I remember horrendous queues in the past so I'm taking no chances!

There is a dedicated air show forum somewhere. I was reading it for traffic and other info last year. Google uk air show forums.
