Flightaware receiver and band pass filter received.
Active USB Extension received.

N Type Male to SMA Male RG58 appears to be travelling from China on the back of a mule, so will arrive at some point in 2017... frown

Know what you mean - Finally got my RG316 Pigtail through today (from China) - RG58 - Think I may just got Maplin and buy a reel as I will need some for my Diamond D-777 too and learn how to wire up the connectors or may see if the aerial mast erectors will sort it.

Take it your USB extension was the Blue Rigger one you had on the Wish List?

Yup, got it connected to the existing Pi DVB combo at the mo and it's working perfectly.

Built a co-linear coaxial antenna, 1/2 wave @ 1090Mhz, 8 segments. It didn't do much better than the standard DVB mini antenna that came with the USB Freeview dongle.

I added an amplifier and it jumped to 150-200 mile range for some high-altitude flights.

Lesson: amplified signal will compensate for shoddy antenna construction. smile

I've got the FlightAware pro-stick and filter waiting to be pressed into use with the new antenna I posted previously.
Now the roofers just need to get on with their work so that I can get a mast on the side of the house... (shhhhh)

Yeah, I managed to buy all of the bits from it.
I'll re-create the list now.

Updated, although the flightaware pro stick doesn't appear to be available on Amazon at the moment, so I've gone with the standard USB DT-V receiver.
They are available via ebay, but from the US and more expensive than normal.

Will I be ok with a Raspberry Pi Model B (512MB Ram) ?

Depending on how many sites you're feeding, that should be fine, based on the last post here..

ADSB Exchange have finally updated their MLAT coverage:

http://www.adsbexchange.com/coverage-2/

I get a load of low flying business jets, helicopters (Civil and Military), plus general aviation from 2 nearby airfield over me, once of the reasons I bought a Rpi and started feeding, as I wanted to see what just flew overhead, but wasn't showing. Now I can see my feeds make a big difference, but as the next nearest station is about 15 miles away, low level aircraft tracks are a bit wobbly!

Surprisingly there are big gaps in UK coverage, Scotland, West Wales, Kent etc. Although unless you can triangulate with a few other locations it won't work, but someone has to start. And dull work days we can be amused watching more military and other interesting stuff flying around.

EYA, I was thinking of getting another Rpi and setting it up to give to a mate who just moved to Normandy, and help MLAT coverage over the English Channel.
