Surprised and pleased to see a white Catalina flying low along the Stour estuary (between Essex & Suffolk) heading east about 11am this morning! Anyone know where it was going?

Thanks FWD. Must be lovely flying over water in a Catalina, one of my favourite aeroplanes.

I seem to recall a PHer has, or had, a share in one.

I nearly got a flight in one after getting chatting to the crew at RIAT.
Had to cut it short and go arse about in some big helicopter thingy for the entertainment of the masses.
Biggest missed opportunity ever.

I was shown around that Catalina at the Farnborough Airshow a couple of years ago.

At RIAT a few years ago with BBMF I got chatting to the catalina gents and got to look round. I joked I'd do a swap for the Dakota, head of BBMF PR wasn't a fan of the Dakota so put on social media a plan was in place to do a swap, the reaction was priceless it turns out there's lots of people who love the Dakota!!

Just flown over me on the usual flight path from Duxford to the South West. Staying over for Weston Air Day Weston-Super-Mare?

Seen yesterday over Castle Combe - was driving a 60s Dodge Charger at the time, seemed appropriate somehow...

Saw it going east to west over Stevenage yesterday afternoon around 3.20pm. Guessing it was heading back to Duxford.

If it was east to west it was landing at Luton, according to Flightradar.

A plane I have a lot of time for. My Dad flew them in WW2 and copiloted with John Cruikshank prior to him being awarded the VC.

Isn't there another Catalina in the UK somewhere, in airworthy/semi-airworthy state? think it has camo painted on top of the wing? Sure I saw a pic in a magazine a while back.
