Isn't there another Catalina in the UK somewhere, in airworthy/semi-airworthy state? think it has camo painted on top of the wing? Sure I saw a pic in a magazine a while back.
Yes it's based in Duxford and does regular air showshttp://www.catalina.org.uk

Matt Dearden - ("Moose" IIRC). Worth following on Twitter for some great shots of flying in Indonesia.
I do indeed have a share and fly the Catalina as regularly as I can. In fact I was playing with her over Duxford just the other day, doing my left seat check out. Pretty cool getting to fly such a wonderful old girl on both land and water Moose. said:

Just checked out your blog- fascinating stuff, especially finding the DC-3 crash site. I can see me wasting quite a lot a time reading through all that! does the Catalina spend much time operating from water? I had always assumed it stays on dry land due to corrosion and maintenance being increased by getting everything wet?Gassing Station | Boats, Planes & Trains | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
