Holy crap, ditching a fighter after use.. must be scary as it gets..

But i guess sacrificing a fighter makes sense if it prevents the loss of even a single merchant ship, never mind if you can actually take down on of those nazi bds.

The Think Defence Twitter page has done a cost analysis and concluded with this figure. Pretty damning. £1.5 billion without a ship in sight

'So all in all, we have spent about £1.5 billion on Type 23 replacement so far plus over 300m for additional OPV's no one wants'

£1.5 billion to 'design' a ship? I do admire your optimism at the efficiency of the MOD and Bae

It doesn't cost £1.5bn to design a frigate, that number will include a load of longlead items and perhaps even the £180m for the new popgun.
