I agree on this - it's too obviously based on Q7 for such an expensive and apparently exclusive car; It has very obviously plastic chromed grills on the front which look very cheap and nasty, especially when you are up close (remember how this style of grille used to be laser cut stainless steel, pre-VW)
And it's incredibly poorly proportioned and ugly, especially from the front. It looks all sad and droopy.
A rip off, in my opinion. But I have no doubt demand will outstrip supply.
But the brand is nowhere near as exclusive as it used to be - so maybe these things don't matter?

I do like that - I think the GT is all round a much better car, much more convincing. We know it's on a shared platform, but this is very well disguised (unlike the Bentyaga where it's obvious)
One thing I don't like about the GT - you sit too low. It's like you are clambering into a hole and it's claustrophobic. For me, you are supposed to sit higher in a Bentley than other regular cars - this was always a feature.

To be honest, I think the Germans probably do "get it", but the overriding objective is to run a very commercial operation that makes money, and they know how to do this. In the old days you feel it was more about making the best car in the world and making money was almost secondary, it seemed. VW would never run a car company like that!

However, I am not against the concept of a Bentley 4x4, really. Or a Bentley Diesel. It's just the way the concept has been executed I have a big problem with. Stick a Bentley Badge on it, make sure there is loads of leather and wood....and that's it. There is no regard for the concept of what a Bentley used to be. Commercially, this may not matter of course. But from an enthusiast point of view, it's awful.
