I saw the same thing on a flight in India many, many years ago, some guys sat in the aisle on suitcases because they had no seats. I was supposed to be on a 'direct' flight from Bangkok to London, but the travel agent in Phuket left out a few minor details such as two stops in India, one in Moscow, a couple of plane changes.....long before internet booking and suchforth.

I don't think I was on BA or any other well known airline.
Seems like you did the same cheep as a curry flight I did, nightmare. Some woman started cooking her own curry on a camping stove !
Flew with Airoflop the next year, the seats were hand painted with bristles in the dried paint smile

PIA = Please Inform Allah.
Better to refer to them as Pain In the Arse airlines when you have to deal with them at a business level..

Yes, this was Aeroflot. Or it was for most of the journey, back in 1990, if I remember correctly.

Having lived in India for 7.5 years, I agree with you there and are very punctual (about the only thing that is).

I like the way you could book a seat in advance, and the train would roll into the station dead on time, with a sheet of paper taped to the side, with your name and seat number on it. biggrin

Probably more reliable than their airline system......

Aeroflop was legendary in the 20th century. Remember being on an overbooked flight from Moscow in the 1990s with people sleeping in the central aisle the whole journey, including takeoff and landing.

And Air Vietnam used their old aircraft cast-offs!
Only once, dumped the return ticket and paid for an Air France ticket back to Thailand, yep: I bottled it !

My offshore oil company refused to use Aeroflot, ever, and our travel agent dicks were notorious for choosing the most nasty cheapest route to get us from a to b.

I think PIA were on their blacklist too, along with a few others.
