Obviously back again due to the trial. There's is an official report available online.
I worked with a few people who were passengers on the aircraft and from their stories it was not a nice experience and that was from people who are used to throwing aircraft around whilst being shot at!

RAF pilots don't hold a civie licence so the chances of him ever flying anything again must be quite slim.
I may be wrong but I think the voyager pilots might hold civil licences as the aircraft and pilots can be utilised for civil contracts? While the aircraft are/ can be lent out to the civilian world. I am pretty certain that when under civie use they are flown by civies with civilian licences.
This lending to civie airlines is a long term thing, it's not a flight by flight basis, its designed to give us a better war reserve. They have some quite advanced electronics and counter measures fitted when in military use (thing anti missile systems and comms system) which there not going to lend the plane out with all that stuff fitted. Much of it is also fitted to the herc fleet and from experience of havin to remove and refit it to hercs it's quite a time consuming job to do. Which there not going to do for a single lend to civie world.

That's not strictly true.
A fair number of RAF Pilots (especially the Multi Engined types) achieve Civilian licences whilst serving, even more so if they are flying an aircraft that has a Civilian Type Rating (eg HS125, BAe 146).
Having visited 10 Sqn about a year ago I was informed that the Voyager pilots convert onto type by recieving the Civilian training package which results in them attaining a Civilian licence.

I can't imagine the raf paying for that. I wonder if they do it at there own expense for when they come out using the ELC scheme.
I do know they do an abridged civie licence conversion type course not the full ppl/cpl/ATPL normal route civilians take when obtaining the civilian licences.
They might even do the full civilian type package but I doubt they are issued the licence.
Interesting if they do but it's not my understanding. I know a couple of raf engineers on voyager I will get them to find out for sure.
