Best pocket camera
Discussion
My old Canon SX220 has served me well over many years, finally the marks on the lens and general wear and tear have degraded it so much I need to start thinking about a new camera.
I bought my daughter a Canon G3x as she needed the zoom. Better pictures of course, but too big for a pocket.
This seems ideal

1 inch sensor, small body, 4k video. Not even sure I need 10x zoom, but I guess it is handy.
My questions are, is there a better camera out there already in the compact sphere or is there a better one soon on the horizon?
I'd like a quart in a pint pot of course !

I've been investigating these for the last week or so and came to exactly the same conclusion, so am planning on getting a TZ100 in the summer.
I think for my needs this is the best compact zoom on the market. I'm going to the Singapore GP later this year and don't want to take all my SLR kit, so wanted a good quality compact travel camera with a decent zoom, larger sensor and I like the fact it does 4k video, has a touch screen, EVF and lots of features.
I think the main question is do you need the 10x zoom. If you do, then this is the camera to have.
If not, then one of the 3x zooms with faster 1.8/2.8 lenses would probably be a better bet, like the Lumix LX100, Sony RX100 IV or V, Canon G7X II etc
Have a look on dpreview.com if you havent already.
