Not really very close to the same, but under 30k for some high maintenance shiny topsides...

Champagne boating on lemonade money. Like it.
Trubble with the Kral is that when you see it on the water its fugly.

Aquarama is pretty, but its a lake boat, not a tough sea going boat.

Isn't there a guy on here building a hand made wooden boat from scratch? What happened to that?

Chum of mine, good boat, drove it last summer, well sorted, good value. Treat yourself.

It looks lovely (though if I was selling a £70K boat I might take some photos of the inside). However I think 450hp is a bit excessive for the inland waterways. How far would I get if I said 'How much off if you keep the engines'? nuts

NB 'electric induction hob... electric oven/grill'. He'll have to keep those as well; no mains in a field!

Reckon I've got it down to half price now...

Such a shame it's been modernised though......I'd have those original engines 'hot rodded' and back where they belong in a heart-beat if I had the half a mil in spare down the back of the sofa.
Odd that the fitted engines are not named - but a close examination of the photo shows them to be Mercury.
...a closer examination shows the right hand one missing some 'connectivity'.

Rivas are fabulous looking boats aren't they, wow.

Is their a 'poor man's' equivalent? Something with style, panache, supermodel in the forepeak, but less than 100k? Or less than 50k?
Maybe a Riva Junior?

An Aquarama that's shrunk in the wash, but still has that Riva style.

If there has been a more beautiful mechanical item crafted by man, I haven't yet seen it. There isn't an awkward line or angle on the whole thing.

I throw up for fun in boats, but I still would, had I the means.

As said previously, Chris Crafts are the original (I believe Riva actually copied them in the 60's) and still in production now. Spent a bit of time on a Corsair 36 (not made anymore now), great boat and good in medium swell offshore, twin volvo pentas. Almost bought a Chris Craft Roamer 40' as well but it's condition was really poor, shame as the hulls are really well made. Fibreglass is so thick a shipwright once told me he thought he drilling into a stringer once but it was just the hull!

Anyhow, plenty of cheap Chris Crafts in Minnesota, USA. I saw my favourite, a Launch 28' on Lake Minnetonka last year, just lovely and about US$90K

I was in Puerto Banus last year doing the tourist thing. Despite all of the £50m+ gin palaces and the herds of Ferraris and Lamborghinis that were doing laps of the front, this is the only thing that made me feel a bit wibbly when I saw it.

The baby brother to the Aquarama in period was called the Olympic.
Came across a lovely example of the Aquariva in August 2015 just yards from where Bardot strutted her stuff in "And God Created Woman":

A Fairey Huntsman could be less than £50k, British too.

When I was getting an MOT at the MG garage a chap pulled up with a nice British wooden speedboat on the back of a trailer. Built by someone called Healey who apparently also built cars.rotate Doesn't have quite the lines of a Riva, but nice all the same and more suited for the inland waterways of the UK.

This is superb
http://www.peterfreebody.com/brokerage-detail.php?...

but the rivas are quite sublime too. Imagine trying to keep them in that condition, but you'd have to really.

I take great issue with Freebody. When he was alive he bought up old motor boats and sat them in his yard waiting for a customer to come along and fund the restoration. He never even covered them with a tarp and many failed to survive. While the boating press lauded him as one of the Thames finest old boat surgeons, he was also their murderer.
