Trubble with the Kral is that when you see it on the water its fugly.
Guess we have different views on fugly. Eye of the beholder etc.

I think that is a bargain for £30k!
I was at the yard on Sunday, and that boat has really deteriorated in 6 monthis or so since I last saw it. So much varnish damage pretty much everywhere. Just goes to show the upkeep problem, and it is sitting in a trailer not stuck in salt water.

So was I! Went out on the Bertram 31 'Thunderstreak' - that is one noisey mo fo.

Yes, the Kral looking pretty rough.

Did you see the other wooden boat project in the yard? Ye gods!

Sounds like a fun time out. Nah, missed that other one. Went to look at an advertised "great example" of a boat the would fit at the bottom of the garden right now, which turned out to have more spider cracks in the gel coat than my old garage brickwork had to house arachnids.

Well equipped but had a very hard life, so back to the search...

What are you after?

Did you buy a house in Porto Solente?

Something very cheap, plastic, definitely no sails, definitely as little wood as possible (sorry), planing hull with a decent cockpit layout. Was looking at Sealine S28/34 for some longer distance fun but some expenditure o er the last 6 months or so has eaten a hole in the boat budget, so lowering sights for a while until I unload another house.

We have lived at Port Solent for about 2 and a half years now, and moved to the latest place with the pontoon about 6 weeks ago. 2 BBQs this week already smile

Not on that thread! Just PH in general. You know, you mention something you're involved in / own / place you've been to / something you've done, and before you know it, you've got all the "I call BS" and "custard test" and all that nonsense. Not my fault if I get involved in more 'stuff' than the average bear.

So you find yourself rooting round the garage for a set of keys or a photo or a book or something to 'prove' to some random idiot on the internet that you have been to / own / experienced something. The second or third time you do this, you find yourself thinking "What the unholy fk am I doing? Why the hell do i need to 'prove' this just to substantiate a legitimate comment?"

So, in all, fk 'em. I'm oot (mostly).

Lived in France all last year, so not much happened. Have literally just picked up keys this afternoon to a new unit that's two minutes from home, so once I can get the boat moved from my barn that's 40 minutes away, I should be able to start work again.

Loads of stuff going on this year, baby, building some shepherds huts, installing land drainage, hopefully barn building if planning comes through, but at least it'll be close to home so there's half a chance....

It's best not to argue with idiots on the internet. If you're right, you're right. That's all that matters. There is life beyond the keyboard smile

Yeah, you're right, but I'd much rather the type of forum when you say "I've been there" somebody responds with "yeah, me too, did you see the xxx or yyy? That was the best bit!" And you say "Ah, I missed yyy but I did see zzz, xxx was so good though! So glad I found somebody who shared my experience.".

Or the PH version "I've been there". I call BS. Custard test. Yeah, right. 'Powerfully built company director' etc.

I got fed up with it I'm afraid, found a nicer playground.

Every intention of updating the original thread when things get going again, watch this space....
