Hello All.

I have just seen this Topic. Yes i agree it is very very sad to see.

This is why i own a 10' Scale model of this. Other than the Vulcan to the Sky and Dave Johnson (LMA Chairman)no one has Vulcans..

Take a look at the Site and sign up for updates on Events so you can see a realy nice scale model Vulcan.

What a fascinating website - the flying model videos are amazing, the amount of work involved must be immense.

I'm going to shoot myself in the foot here by displaying a basic level of military bedding knowledge.

However, to satisfy the baying crowds hunger for linen related education I'll tell.

Basically, you make the bed as normal but with a twist. The sheet at the bottom of the bed is folded half way up the bed creating a 'pocket' which when the victim gets into the bed (probably in an alcohol induced coma) he finds himself unable to get his legs down to the bottom of the bed, but is trapped halfway. It is then up to the victim to extract himself from the bed or to try harder to get into the bed, often resulting in ripped bedsheets or temporary incapacitation.

There.

No, I won't draw diagrams.

Does this assist with 'Rape a mate' night? Always went down well in the mess.

Adverts advertise businesses, that isn't a business it's an interesting website about getting a RC Vulcan flying. No different to all the people who have posted their own car websites, with photos of their cars on it.
I agree. The new guy could have a lot to contribute but with a welcome like that why should he come back.
Sure, rip the regulars to bits but at least give potentially interesting new arrivals the chance to settle in smile
Ok, fair enough. I confess I mistook the site as a commercial one selling models, rather than a site about a unique one-off model. If you see what I mean.

I still have a picture (Black and white) of my schools CCF RAF section stood in front of XL391 around the time of the falklands conflict. I believe the plane had returned from the falklands only a few hours before the picture was taken. It seems it was not too long (maybe a year or so?) after that picture was taken that the plane was moved to Blackpool.

I could scan and post it here if there is anyone interested.

Also if anyone is local to Berkshire (or willing to travel) there is a special event amateur radio station (callsign GB0VUL) being run from ex-RAF/USAF Greenham Common (now New Greenham Park) near Newbury in Berkshire on 16th/17th May in order to promote the Vulcan to the Skies Project. There will be lots of Vulcan realted items going on over the weekend including (we hope) a 10ft model of the Vulcan on site.

You will be most welcome to come along if your able to.

Norman

Holy thread resurrection Batman ( and all that)
Reason I have is that I went over to Blackpool and stopped by the airport. Except there isn't really one now. It looks to have been sold to development and I understand and energy technology park (whatever that is) is being built on much of the site.
I don't know all the ins and outs but I do know its a sad end
