XH558 is scheduled to fly in the Rhyl Airshow next weekend 31/8-1/9, its always a good free show over the two days, well attended and plenty of static displays for the weekend.

Watched it today at Dunsfold Wings and Wheels. Great show, Vulcan only marginally upstaged by the Arrows.

Just seen on the VTTS website that it is not appearing at the Bournemouth airshow this year.
That makes me sad as it is the only airshow I can get to.
Great news for Bournemouth is that local fund raisers and individuals have donated enough for XH558 to display on Sunday 1 September.
Has anyone any idea of the display time as I am going on the Safurday with family and friends but want to pop down on the Sunday just to watch the Vulcan.
Thanks in advance.

It looked good at the Little Gransden Airshow show on Sunday, sunshine and moody clouds set it off perfectly! biggrin

Prolly mentioned already.XH558 has visited Northern Ireland. The pilot's a local lad.

Apologies that the video may be buffered to death. But enjoy.

And from the local rag...

I was unable to resist the temptation. The Airfix kit is in my possession.

Best of luck with the Airfix Vulcan. It can be made into a beautiful model - but it takes a lot of work.

You can track the plane on their iPhone app or alternatively follow XH558 on twitter for updates.

How much does it cost out of interest?

I believe the current figure is the plane cost £40,000 a day to maintain.

Good luck ... all cell sin the area max out and although you may have a full strength 3G signal, you try using it. I was receiving text messages almost 3 hours after they were sent last year.

I believe they had to raise at least £9,000.

I presumed Rosco would be at home to start with from his post...

Website shows only Vulcan for Saturday and Red Arrows for Sunday with "More details to follow" (two days before the event!) Does anyone know if that is all that is flying at Rhyl? Does anyone have a time for the Vulcan on Saturday?

Reading the blurb on the Airfix kit box, £1 is donated to the VTTS fund for every kit sold.

Not quite THAT bad, 2 million a year so a shade under 40k (well 38.5k) per week, not per day!

and this year its "Double" fundraising as they also need to raise £400k for the wing mod to keep XH558 flying for another 2 years, http://www.operation2015.org for more info.
