It's a shame there is no show at Waddington this year.

Just came across an advert for a forthcoming book - lower half of the cover has an intruiging picture......

Wasn't Chris Gibson the name of the person who supposedly spotted an Aurora aircraft while working on a North Sea
oil rig? Ex Observer a Corps or something like that.

Absolutely.
I've been shelling out on this beauty for years but practically every time her wheels leave the Doncaster Tarmac, she heads south. frown

I'm sure there's a very good reason she flies in the South, not simply becuase the trust are Tory voters!

Many years ago my Parents took us to Bruntingthorpe to see it being rebuilt. Have kept in touch with it ever since, my name is also in the bomb bay smile

Its a shame it will be its last year, mechanical components do have a life span.

Hopefully they will keep it running even if only on the ground, not just lock it away in museum somewhere.

Hardly their fault is it. It's up to northern organisers to put up the money to pay for displays in the north.

It was going to happen one day soon, especially after they carelessly trashed two good engines.

It has been known from day one that it had defined flying time left, and either FI or engine life would terminate it's flying days for good.

I've a feeling it's going to be busy (and probably dusty too) at Robin Hood when she comes in for the last landing.

Sadly, it's a shame that they are being stupid enough to consider it's last landing there and not somewhere where it stands a better chance of a long term future.

Elvington alongside Lusty is the logical choice, with a fund raising effort to put a roof over both.

Yeah, a bit annoying. I'm going to head down to RIAT just to see her I think, not been there since I was a teenager.
Hopefully she'll show at blackpool and/or southport, later in the year?

I think he means "It's a shame the Vulcan won't be going to where the Victor is, as both types of planes were used during Operation Black Buck, and they were both cold war warriors"
