It looks as if the fin and rudder have fallen off, probably a good job they are having to retire the bird soon huh
whoooos....
That amount of 'overbank' is what we got at Cosford the other week, I know that she isn't really almost upside down
I know she isn't
I know
I know, but bugger me she's close just before she drops out of it
Great picture. thanks

Her take off this afternoon was, simply, awesome.
I am in the Patrons chalet all weekend & she hit the power as she was level with us. Shook all the hospitality chalets when she took off.
An awesome display on her own topped off by the fly past with the Red Arrows.
Hardened RAF bods I am looking after were all spellbound by 558.
Only aircraft to be applauded all day was XH558.
Tomorrow will be quite emotional I think. Her last ever display at RIAT.
The end of an era never to be repeated.
Came home tonight with this.....

Shame that its the final year and i read the Vulcan website Final Flight FAQ bit explaining why. Simply put all 3 Technical Authorities seemed to have had enough, with Marshall's the lead element.
Of course they take the responsibility and as it says in the site its exceeded its requirment under the Lottery funding.
Im glad they did it and kept it flying for as long as it did.
Good clip here of it inside whilst taking off, flying and landing. I was amazed how much input on the stick was needed with full use of "power on/power off".

Looked like a pretty good display from my vantage point about 12 miles away through binoculars... did what looked like a vertical climb to high altitude at some point! I was at Fairford yesterady and I can't remember it doing that, maybe because it was more cloudy?
Was standing at the end of the runway and had a fantastic view of it landing!

Ta. Took 42gb of shots all told. Lost to sort, more when I have any idea what is what. In the seats today so hopefully better shots. How many is that ?
Went nuts again today.......
I managed just over 10Gb of photos today, approx. 2300 all told...
Just a couple of 558 here, it was an amazing display and the commentator had a huge lump in his throat as he said it was the final time the skies above Fairford would see a Vulcan display.
Amazing how the crowd started to thin as soon as 558 had finished!
