Was up on beachy head as well albeit watched most of it rather than snapping away. Great spot, got quite busy near the memorial but we spent most of it sat in the long grass 50 m along the cliff enjoying a picnic.

XH558 will be flying by me in 2 weeks at Rhyl Airshow and it's a free to attend event, if you've never been its a great display and a huge effort put in every year as with all displays. Below is a link to a rundown of display times and days;

Anyone know the timings for XH558 at Shoreham over the weekend?

Not sure whether to go to the whole show or just find a decent place to see the Vulcan.

Debating whether to go on Saturday (when the weather is likely to be much better) or Sunday (when I expect the crowds / traffic will be less)?

Any suggested sites to view from if I don't actually attend the full show?

Display around 2pm Saturday at Shoreham .. not sure on Sunday, although Shoreham airshow website gives out warning of 'jet noise ' to residents from 1.10pm – 2.10pm
and 3.45pm – 4.10pm on Sunday .

I be heading to mill hill for Saturday then into the show for Sunday . you can also view from lancing hill near the collage , but to be honest the planes do not seem to pass over head over lancing hill so much as they use to . also down by the river can be ok too .

I'd go on Saturday as the forecast for Sunday is not great, and I suspect it might not fly.

Just found this on the website for the Shoreham show:
Gates Open at 8.30am.
Flying Display Times 1100-1230 and 1330-1730 each day.

Anybody know what time XH588 is taking off today from its home base? I cannot see the time on Facebook or Twitter or e-mail (weather looks better today than tomorrow). I need1hour to get to Doncaster Aitport and so I feel like a kid on Christmas Day.

Different incident.

Reports about the Hunter down at Shoreham are from those watching Planes TV live where people have reported a Hunter (or Hawk?) failed to pull out of a dive - and the live feed was then cut.

Planes TV is back on but there's no mention being made.

Yes that would seem to be the case. Obviously both terrible accidents...
