Unfortunately I missed her with the arrows - I was sitting in a pub thinking the display was still an hour away at 10 minutes to 2! Did manage to get this one from the display a touch later mind.

On the website it says no access from the south. We're going from Wakefield end and just hitting the A1 to nigh on Taddy then cutting across. We're leaving at 7.30 for a 40 min drive then (queuing) getting the chairs out and the kettle on.
We'll call for dinner at Squire's on the way home though.
Seen XH558 a few times this year but this'll be our last planned sight of her in the sky.
After more than likely seeing her fly since I was a kid it'll be emotional.

Just got home, I live 8 miles away. Traffic was chaos, many people not even getting in till after 2.
I suspect there could be magnitudes more people turned up than expected.
On the way out there are people double parked in verges 2 miles out.
Also in the way in, no ticket barrier or checks, lots and lots will have got in free.
I was in the car with engine running and left while the Vulcan was still in the air - it's going to be utter chaos by now.
Great show, but it will need some serious thinking about if they are going to run it again next year.

I remember as a child going to the Finningley Display, when the Red Arrows were left till last. It took hours to get off site. I suspect this may have been a useful lesson for today...I suspect there could be magnitudes more people turned up than expected.

Just been discussing this - definitely a bad move having the 'star' of the show at the end as a finale - if it was early, the traffic would be much more spread out.
Looking on twitter theres a real backlash going on at the traffic management. I'm lucky as i live very close and took a good guess at the best way out, and best time. There are many, many people probably still in the jams now!
What a fantastic day. Decided to go down but take the bike with me, park in Tadcaster and just cycle round the place watching the planes. Stopped to watch the DC3 leaning on a gate near the airfield when the farmer appeared he asked if i was by myself and there for the show. When i said yes he told me the field was his and was invited to join him and his little son in watching from the far end of it. Ended up spending the day sitting on the front of a tractor in a field right at the end of the runway and underneath were the planes were turning.
Wish i'd took a proper camera with me now but a couple of quick snaps of XH558.

Definitely wouldn't ever go again, two hour queue to get in at a pace slower than walking and the exit was just as bad.
Watched the first two hours of the display from the road in and there were people turning around and giving up.
Very badly organised
And huge queues for all the food stalls and after we stood for 20 minutes in the Fish & Chip queue they stuck a sign up saying "No Fish!"

How do I get my money back if others got in for nothing?
