Just going across the Tasman now:

Another Avro. I hope he has a 'hot water bottle' with him.

Looks like an Avro Tutor - another rare beast. I don't think that there are any flying in the UK at the moment - apart from one at the Shuttleworth.

Or maybe the bomber if it really was huge:

i'm sure i've seen one of them flying in a similar formation in England, infact i was in lincolnshire at the time, i wasn't drunk or stoned and it is mucking fassive. I remember thinking to myself that it wasn't very stealth because i can see it.

have they flown in the uk?
% landed at RAF conningsby a couple of years back! I watched them circle over Boston for about 5 mins before landing. THey then left about an hour later followed by a few eurofighters
This formation (or one very similar) flew directly over my house after displaying at RIAT one year, not only huge but a very odd engine note. All my neighbours came out as well to see what was making that "odd" noise.

Had this as a poster on my beadroom wall when I was about 13.
Great thread, company productivity has severly lacked today nono
Now probably rotting on a fire dump.
I used to have this poster too.

So I was a bit sad to see this the other day:

The aircraft on the right is definitely an Armstrong Whitworth Argosy. A US airline called Riddle used them in the 1960s.
The aircraft on the left is either a Douglas DC-4 or DC-6.

Another that poster owner here...

A few years ago I had this conversation with my wife:

Me: I've just been offered a Harrier jump jet for £5000 (I had.)

Wife: Oh. Where would you put it? (We lived in a terraced house in the middle of Bristol).

Me: Ummmm...

Some things are best left as dreams.
