my mate got chased as he was running red diesel, he left the car and ran into a field full of sheep. This was at night ,he got on all fours and crawled about the field towards a wooded area and a farm house. heicopters thermal imaging cameras just picking up hundreds of white dots.

hmmmmmm chinny reckon.

Anyway, why are you associating with people who use red diesel illegally - they are pikeys by all accounts.

I call bullst on the story, how did he know all they could see was white dots of sheep, and why are they using a heli for red diesel offenders?.

I'd say that you are very gullible.
Well, I know the gubbermint likes to waste money but, a helicopter out for a red diesel suspect? I don't think so.

Just head for the nearest airport, preferably a busy one, as the police helicopter cannot fly into the airport's flight path!! Ditch the car and walk!!!

The problem is, while this may stop you being seen by the helicopter, ground forces might just notice a great reflecting mass of silver foil running around biggrin

Yes they can, and get they get very good co-operation from air traffic control.

it would add a delay though,
TBH if you went to Heathrow and went into one of the Multistorey car parks you would get away.

There is so much activity and that you could get to any of the terminals or other car parks without going outside.

CCTV cameras might be an issue though.

Pay a ninja to sabotage the chopper radio and camera/searchlight. A shotgun cartrige inside both, on a small remote det should render both useless... Job done!

how do you reckon a shotgun cartridge works then?

I'm sure a ninja could work out a way.

Has anyone mentioned using a Stinger? Or maybe the Russian or Chinese equivalent and it'll be easier to get.

you'd need either a clock work tensioned firing pin or a solenoid operated firing pin.

either is going to be quite bulky, plus you are going to need a battery and receiver to operate it remotely - these add bulk and weight.

A remotely operated shotgun cartridge device would end up about the size of terrys chocolate orange box (maybe a little smaller) if you replaced the shotgun cartridge with c4 then you could take out the whole heli!.

Hardly un-noticeable when mounted in a searchlight or a heli instrument panel.

However if you are a ninja then pretty much anything is possible.

From my trip in a Police heli, I wouldn't be surprised if they could lock the camera onto your vehicle. So even if they got caught up trying to get through the vicinity of an airport, they could just follow the camera to find you again. I'm not certain it could do this, but it was a serious piece of equipment and it would add up.

use a laser pointer or a BIG spotlight.
They don't like torches shone in their eyes either, I had one sat just above the mast of my yacht once, so I stuck my torch beam into the pilots eyes.
They soon buggered off but sent a boat back after a while and told me it was dangerous, I said yes and so is sitting on my mast poncing around as well.

At the time they were chasing some big ribs through the Straits of Gibraltar smuggling herbs and I was in the middle.
