It's like one those David Attenborough sped up nature films of ants gathering around a caterpillar as they try and work out how to carry it back to their nest.

The Chicago air and water show. Great free show all weekend with the jets running in between the buildings and along the lake shore.

The retired SSCV Hermod / Heerema on board the Dockwise Vanguard 170917.
Huge preparations - for her long voyage.
I remember Helicopters going out to that one a few years ago when it was helping to build stuff on the Northwest Shelf.
What is happening to it?
At the moment they go out to various "Floatels" or they did until this one arrived.

Moelfre on Anglesey, not sure of the events leading up to it bumping into the old lifeboat station but they ended up having to beach it after pulling it clear as the salvage pumps could not keep up with the flooding, expensive day out..

apparently rudders damaged and had to "foamed" to stop leaks whilst it is going to coast £4k to get it lifted out.

She was a radar training ship used by the college of navigation over at Warsash.

IIRC she's a Fred Parker design and was a yacht to start with.

I trained with navigational aids / radar, on that vessel in the early 80's. Glad to see its still around and being saved.

Its tied up against the Quay in Newport, IOW, looking very sorry for itself. I think someone is living onboard.

Other than having had a RIB for a while, I know very little about boats. Are they really so fragile that a bump nearly destroys them? The answer is obviously yes.

Pointy hard rocks and fiberglass do not make good friends! that's a lot of weight and momentum pushing into the rocks, never going to end well

Now there's an understatement! She's timber on steel frames, evidence that she needs to be re-fastened, I'd be interested to hear his plan. Could he be encouraged to start a thread?
