1954 Avro Shackleton Mr2
Discussion
It's great to see her care and loving maintenance Rich, seeing the actual gubbins inside the prop machinery is very interesting.
Thanks
In other business, there's a guy on Britmodeller hoping to make an MR3 with her flaps down.
Is yours likely to be the same colour inside the flaps as a 3 would be?
Next obvious question, "hey mister wot colour are yours?"
Again Rich I like seeing how you are all getting on with your one, a bunch of us Sprite and Midget owners are likely to be in Cov airport on 12 April for a visit.
Is anything going on worth getting there early?
Thanks

Hi all,
Work is still ongoing and we've already woken WR963 once this year only to find another oil leak behind No 4 propeller.... so it has to come off again.
In the meantine I'll leave this link here for our Kickstarter project. We're fundraising towards the structural inspections required on WR963; and have put together some interesting rewards - including the unique chance to experience a taxy run in the aircraft from the vantage point of the co-pilots seat!

Kind regards,
Rich

Okay chaps... no further updates on here, sorry. I guess its okay to raise funding, hold breakfast meets and suchlike for a Vulcan, but yet again the Shackleton gets a kick in the teeth and told to go be quiet.
Nice one Pistonheads.

It wasn't as if I was advertising a business, p0rn, or trying to run a scam. The Trust is a legitimate charity, registered number 1020951.

Well shame on PH for doing that, I think it is disgusting
And I won't even start on some of the threads that have been permitted in other sections
Rich I wish you would come along and keep us advised, it isn't as if you have been holding out a begging bowl after all
Black day at Pistonheads Rock

No reason it disappeared, no contact with admins, hence my initial reaction.
We're still here on this thread though and all is going good - though I'd still like to encourage those who haven't donated to do so. I realise the Kickstarter registration is a pain in the rear, but believe me every £1 helps!
We have a new reward in the pipeline which is a massive (1" to 1foot) reproduction of a Shackleton MR3 manufacturers drawing. Its basically a side view General Arrangement showing where all the equipment fits; and the only place these drawings have been released to in the last 30 years was Airfix.
And then there's that still that last seat available as co-pilot for a taxi run...
Regards,
Rich

Violation of rule 5, whatever that means
After looking,"Rule 5
Do not choose a username which is the same as a company or trading name, nor create multiple profiles or attempt to use any other person's PH log-in to post content without permission or promote charity events, recruit for charitable donations, surveys or seek votes for competitions without permission nor promote events without permission."
I'm trying to figure out how exactly I broke that rule, as while I volunteer with the Trust and the aircraft effectively is owned and run by a Charity, this isn't a charity event, and it isn't a donation - you're purchasing something. Its not a competition either, as there's no winner. Given that there's everything flogged on PH from Bitcoin to business startups to gambling; its a bit off.
Somebody needs to go away and have a look at the definition of crowdfunding.
Oh well.
Well however that thread has been interpreted it's all downstream of the bridge now, thank the deity that Rich is still keeping me fed with Shack titbits in here
Love the view of the wing inner Rich, really does look a viable subject for flight if the structure is all that good
Any news on that front? There's a Vulcan rapidly running out of life (over there) and I'd love to be taking photos of the Shack aloft some time
