Fuel and supplies likely, just the shear scale of the amount required.
I thought they liked to use Gibraltar for fuel due to the tax scenario there.Turquoise said:
Which super yacht has the biggest swimming pool?
Eclipse and Luna seem pretty large:http://www.boatinternational.com/yachts/luxury-yac...

Any idea who owns it? Seems to come in every summer.
Previously Larry Ellison, American Billionaire however has since sold it to a South American Banker. There is a smaller 40 Meter yatch "Brazil" in as well
Some video of LUNA
This was made as the boat was advertised for charter:

Some of these yachts look UGLY.
Look like cruise liners. Especially the larger ones. The smaller ones look more "sporty" (for want of a better word) and more sexy.
Some of the larger ones look like floating hospitals.
Points to Katara, above. Just nasty looking thing (Ferry anyone). Harts new expedition yacht is my favourite. Look like cruise liners. Especially the larger ones. The smaller ones look more "sporty" (for want of a better word) and more sexy.

Question:
I think I remember these vast yachts tend to be approved for only 12 guests for some reason to do with licensing / regulations / SOLAS ?
Is that rule respected? 12 guests on one of these could walk around all day and only very occasionally see each other.
If you are at anchor or berthed alongside, is there any (imposed) limit to the number of people who can be on board?
