Dunno if this belongs in here or not? I'm not really a boat person....

We spotted this while on a gulet around Turkey last summer I think.

I *think* its the Talitha G?

To be honest I don't knwo if its worth 6 or 60 million?
Talitha G is owned by the Getty family and cost a bleeding fortune to restore.

Her website has a webcam on the foredeck, check it out.

Love it. How much?
That's 'Bystander'. It was moored in Southampton Ocean Village a week or two ago for the return of the Clipper round the world race. A lovely looking boat, very elegant.

I looked at putting one of my ships in West India Docks during the Olympics.

I usually get a great charitable rate on the fees there, but during the Olympics, for a 65m LOA vessel, £5,250 per day, minimum 21 day booking! I still have the price list, 11k a day for something the size of Octopus yikes

After picking myself up from the office floor, I politely declined...

However, during the Paralympics, all fees are waived in recognition our charitable aims. Raking it in off rich blokes then givin me a freebie was a nice touch I think!

ha,ha, i love this post.
could it be run by n.c.p's aquatic division smile

thats a handy map, thanks biggrin
i'm working on the olympics at the mo, and pick the lorry up every other day from silvertown, so, close by.
would quite like to go down and have a look at the boats 1 night next week after work.

has anyone been? if so, can you park near by, and is it worth it. i'd like to get a proper look, or is there security ropes everywhere?

You can park under Waitrose in Canary Wharf, spend a tenner in there and you can ask for a token so the parking is free. You should be able to park for free somewhere off of Marsh Wall after 5.30pm too. As for the boats you can get right up alongside them.
