Not the largest by some of the boats in this thread but Vive La Vie owned by a swiss multi millionaire is currently docked up in Belfast at the moment according to the local news, certainly stands out compared to the usual boats in the harbour!
I seen Vive la Vie Monday, docked just next to the outside. Did seem weird seeing a 60m superyacht with no others around.I'm on holiday in Skiathos at the moment, and Barbie is dominating everything else in Skiathos old port. She's apparently owned by Unal Aysal, the Turkish businessman who also owns Galatasaray football club.
And today, Lauren L arrived in Platanias Bay. A bit of googling reveals that she can be chartered for just 85000 euros a day, plus expenses (which I assume includes fuel).

Just to put her size into perspective, that's a 135ft boat passing her bows.
House in the background is Mum's.
Anyone read the mail article on staffing on a super yacht?

I can imagine life not being easy but this seems a bit strong!
Or is it spot on?

Meh. There are good boats, and bad boats. There are a lot of precious darlings however, who are happy to take the money, but struggle with the work. I've never really worked the smaller end of the industry, but the bigger boats are all pretty well run and there is no exploitation AFAIK. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/travel_news/arti...

Charter boats certainly work you hard though! It isn't for everyone but it is good fun if you have the right attitude.

My wife read it to me this morning but never finished it as she got annoyed with me constantly saying "bks", "bull st" and "usual DM tosh"http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/travel_news/arti...

The Mrs used to work on AM among others in the fleet. You'd be right in saying it hardly ever gets used by the owner, more often than not it is used by the extended family though. I suspect it will get more use now he's not PM of Qatar now though.Assume they were waiting for someone to board as there was quite a number of cars lined up and people stood round it waiting for five hours - they were still standing around when I left
There was another nice boat the other side of the harbour - not sure of its name
