would you be surprised to learn it's owned by a Russian but apparently he threatens to sue anyone who says he is the owner.
Haha ! Good grief. More state appropriation/wealth extraction.
I feel guilty for ever disliking Bill Gates.

Stil, Dilbar is a beautiful boat and Usmanov is a stand-up guy! smile
It's comical actually. Probably the most typical. You know, all western agencies say he is linked to organised crime. Owns all possible asset mixes, telecoms, banks, mining, oil, a high place in government. This thread should stop posting russian yachts. They are a bit sickening on so many levels. Had it all as a boy aged 30.

1 helicopter for guests, 1 helicopter for staff and a submarine each for Paul & Bill to escape if James Bond gets on board and tries to stop Microsoft's evil plan for world domination and blows up the boat in the process.

Evil plans and scale model of evil plan situated on D deck, just behind the day lounge.

It looks interesting for sure. Colour coded helicopter I see.
Who's the owner?
well, it is sooo embarrassing if they are not colour-coded. all the other superyacht owners laugh at you.

Woke up to find the Lady Lara moored up outside our hotel in Croatia.
My 9 YO is quite taken with it and wants to know if we could afford it "if we sold the house and all daddies bikes and fishing stuff".

Squash Court? On a boat with even the slightest rolling would be horrible. I bet your balance gets well stuffed up!

Not a £60m yacht but an interesting one I accidentally got when tapping the screen and the page moved as it loaded and I got this.

One of the last of the WWII German fleet still afloat, the Nazi's private yacht, Hitler, Doenitz and Himmler all spent time aboard. Surprised the Soviets didn't sink it.

Give me £60m plus the vessel and I would be able to get it somewhat in shape to be featured in these pages. That and around 24/30 months would do it.

Possibly not 60 million, but this was in Stornoway harbour last week... looking a little out of place alongside a couple of trawlers and the CalMac ferry.

Now en route to Gibralta, probably to thaw out...

p.s. The 2 BEST days of superyacht ownership?

1. The day you buy it.

2. The day you sell it.

If it flies, floats or ****s, rent it!
Given most of these boats are about £1mil a WEEK to rent i'm not so sure! hehe

It's a tax dodge, you have to have them for rent to write off the tax.

I believe it's then operated as a loss making company, the losses can be offset against other incomes. It's a sticky area and some people don't always succeed, take F1's favourite team manager for example...

I'm sure someone on here will know with more clarity.

If the yacht is available for charter, it's a business. Whether that holds up is another question. I would think the tax authorities would want to see some evidence that it was in fact rented out a reasonable amount of the time. I imagine if classed as a business, all depreciation, crew costs etc etc which would be millions, can be offset against other income to lower ones tax bill. Billionaires in tax dodge shocker

Maybe it's like not spending too much time in the UK for tax exiles? It doesn't matter if no one rented it, maybe they can't spend more than x months on board themselves and Briatore spent more time aboard than the tax allows him and still operate it as a rental business.

The Italians do like going after the high profile tax avoiders, Briatore, Rossi, numerous footballers.

Do the yacht owners rent it to themselves (or one of their companies) especially if entertaining business contacts?

It's run as a loss making company, you "rent" it from yourselves for the days you use it.

Offset that against other tax.

Sunseeker Predators? Tenders arn't they?

Was hoping someone would post Le Grand Bleu. I saw that off the coast of Menorca a few years back. Stunning. And was there for several days as the guests had gone on a 2 day jaunt on the 100ft sailing boat that sits on the back alongside the Sunseeker predator. Very good toys to have on the back of your mega yacht!

Think it's my favourite yacht...but then again there are a few more. (except Phil Green's as he is a total f***ing crook and should have to give his boat to former BHS employees),
