Slightly off-the-wall question, do yachts like this employ full-time ICT people? (more management than programming lol)
I'm looking for a new ex-pat style challenge and the opportunity to combine work with some travel rather appeals.
Some umbrella management companies will have IT auditors who will inspect vessels for compliance and resilience. Anything 80m+ is likely to have an AV/IT Officer, or ETO. Sometimes both. If you want to be bona fide crew there will be the expectation to have more than just programming/ICT skills, or at least the will to learn and broaden your skill set. How are your electrical skills? VSAT? Crestron?
Good to know thanks, definitely willing to learn / muck in, extensive VSAT experience and electrical and Crestron type skills not too bad either.
Sounds like it might be an avenue worth at least looking at then, with no family to speak of I think I'd really enjoy moving around the World with a decent bunch of colleagues.

Any particular agencies to keep an eye on?

I guess that stays in harbour in anything approaching a mild blow. I wouldn't want to be in the middle of the ocean in a big following sea with nothing but a set of patio doors to keep the water out...

Wilson Halligan, Viking, Hill Robinson, j4crew are some of the better ones for technical jobs.

But the more I look at it, the more I like it somehow....

Same square rig (Dynarig) designed by Dykstra but bigger. Black Pearl is 1711gt heavier and 17mtrs longer and although the hull looks similar they are light years apart in terms of design and technological 'ECO' innovations.

Ocean Victory is anchored off Puerto Portals just now, can't identify this one keeping her company though

Vessel Finder doesn't recognise her existence at all.

Ah yes, just after reading your reply I spotted if I scrolled right on Wikipedia there were pics along side all the world's largest yacht listings!

Mighty impressive although the styling does have a bit of cruise ship about it with the tenders high on the sides. I actually thought it was a small cruise liner from the distance until I spotted the private chopper!

Ocean Victory looks stunning, not sure about the purple night illumination though.

Pretty ballsy beat so close to that wall for sail trials?

Probably not actually all that close (perspective and all that...)

Interesting yacht. Still not convinced, but love the sail plan.
