amongst some very nice superyachts in Ibiza old town port last week (including the very lovely 'Why Worry') were these 2;
The Vagabond - just heading out with a large party aboard;

It was moored up next to the most impressive superyacht I've seen in the flesh (though there are nicer on this thread) Radiant;

That said, my favourite was a lot more classic looking;

Just out of interest, nearly all the big boats seemed to be registered out of Georgetown - presumably this is for tax reasons?

Yes, why not Liberia as a lot of commercial shipping used to be?

Are there other incentives/tax reasons/ etc for registering in one particular port?

Slightly off-the-wall question, do yachts like this employ full-time ICT people? (more management than programming lol)
I'm looking for a new ex-pat style challenge and the opportunity to combine work with some travel rather appeals.
Some umbrella management companies will have IT auditors who will inspect vessels for compliance and resilience. Anything 80m+ is likely to have an AV/IT Officer, or ETO. Sometimes both. If you want to be bona fide crew there will be the expectation to have more than just programming/ICT skills, or at least the will to learn and broaden your skill set. How are your electrical skills? VSAT? Crestron?
Good to know thanks, definitely willing to learn / muck in, extensive VSAT experience and electrical and Crestron type skills not too bad either.
Sounds like it might be an avenue worth at least looking at then, with no family to speak of I think I'd really enjoy moving around the World with a decent bunch of colleagues.

Any particular agencies to keep an eye on?
You've got me thinking now!!!

I'm an ex-RN weapons engineer (so everything from sonar to missiles) and now work in IT.

I quite fancy a bit of time at sea in something a bit more luxurious than a warship smile

Is she fully under sail or assisting engines?

Full sail at every opportunity. That is the official main mode of propulsion.

That is some very nifty drone flying, especially at the end for the bow shot.

I think this doesn't quite edge out one of the J-class boats for me, but it's certainly my favourite superyacht of the moment.

Rather nice to see Eclipse bobbing around in Golfe Juan when we arrived yesterday.

It is rather impressive.

Looks better from a distance IMHO. the wraparound windows are vile once you can 'see' them properly.
I love this. It's actually an old frigate, resprayed!
