how much walking is involved getting to the place where you takes the shots... are we talking Mountain climbs to get there?
Depends where you go,I did Bwlch top shelf, a good 20 mins tough walk, not for the weak legged, will certainly open up your lungs.
Cad East - Probably the easiest to walk, 5 mins easy, only problem is the lack of parking there so can be full very easily.
As Dave said, its roughly 3 minutes a lap, the regulars told me once you had a pass to be ready in roughly 3 minutes just incase they lap again. The distance they cover in those 3 minutes I do not know as I havnt dont it or tried to follow them in my car.
If Ginetta does believe me or Dave, then why dont she go and stand at Cad with a stopwatch for a day
May I ask how many flying hours, and specifically, low flying hours D4VE 3 LL and 3LLB1G GK have? And why you think YOU are experts’?
Have either of you actually flown at low level? EVER?
Have either of you actually OPERATED at low level?
EVER?
No of course you haven’t.
Yet you KNOW the rules and you know better than those who do it.!
Now, it’s a while since I flew the M. Valley, I know for a fact we didn’t do it at 600 kts. THERERFORE it can’t be 30 miles round trip in 3 minutes.
In fact it’s a case of fly at 420 kts and pulling out and go round again’
Now
Secondly, being ex Aircrew I can not stand there and watch people (possibly my ex students) hooning down valleys – once you have been Military Aircrew, then just like racing, you NEVER really leave!

Because I live too far away and I am not a ‘spotter’ – sorry I have better things to do with my day.Secondly, being ex Aircrew I can not stand there and watch people (possibly my ex students) hooning down valleys – once you have been Military Aircrew, then just like racing, you NEVER really leave!

Getting a bit bored of the slagging you do in these threads, you did it to droptheclutch's thread a while ago. I'm not a spotter, merely a tog who enjoys the thrill of watching the jets in the valleys and wanted to share some of the half decent photos I have and if people ask for information I'll do my best to tell them. Well it could be a case of 27 or 28 miles and 3 minutes and 10 seconds, still about the same time/distance. Never said I was an expert, just stated what I'd seen, also never siad I'd operated at low level. Have either of you actually flown at low level? EVER?

Enjoy the photos if you want but keep the bhing to yourself, please.
To be fair Dave she did reply politely to your first assertion that it was a 3 minute loop, and she did so with some good first hand knowledge based on her actual experience. You responses were along the lines of " well its 3 minutes cos I've measured it, and rules are there to be broken" (ie, you were calling her responses Bullst)
I'm not surprised she got a bit narked.
Either way, great photos though.
Shall we all play nicely again? In particular I'd love a first hand account from the G15 Girl of just what its really like to do the loop, stick in hand!!!!

in no particular order
Cheers!
Dave
Can anyone explain to me why this hawk has obvious hardpoints on the wingtips when none of the others do? I know during the cold war some hawks were used as interceptors. Or is this the difference between the Hawk T2 and previous variants?in no particular order
Cheers!
Dave
cheers!
