I just found this video, and checked before (re)posting.

That has to be the best "unboxing" video ever. smile

I would hazard a guess that the film is earlier than 1944.

Well spotted.

I didn't actually see that. I was going on the mark of P-47 and its colour scheme.

No actual planes that I saw, but that's what's cool.

Antonov An-124 landing at Robinhood airport today, filmed by me.
shame some baldy got in the way and his mates were chatting even though they saw me filming! I really should learn to tell people " I'm filming guys so shut the fk up" or words to that effect.

anyway, it's a bloody big ship

Sorry - you can't expect people to bow to your desires just because you want to film. I've been in the same position and just put up with the "real world" going on around me.

The trick is to do a quick survey of what and who is around you BEFORE you start recording and try and move to a position where you can get a clearer view. It isn't always possible of course. But I certainly would not castigate ordinary people for getting in my way.

The film is pretty good, even with Mr Baldy and the truck getting in the way.

Yeh I can biggrin

I'm one of the considerate people that will asses a situation and make sure I don't get my head in the way of photographers and would prefer people be considerate when people are filming i.e. keep thou god shut for a minute or two..if only we lived in a world where photographers and videographers respected each other.

Plus there wasn't anywhere else to grab this footage.

Have to say that if I'm near someone filming then I will keep quiet and make sure I'm out of the filmers way.... I don't expect it of others because.... Well I know i'll be disappointed ...

Quite funny watching the snappers with expensive kit at RIAT this year. Some were trying to get the aircrews out the way, the ones giving private tours, they (snappers) got quite agitated. Shouting and tut tutting. Serious snapper at work dontcha know.....

To be honest, I tend to be more careful around stills photographer than movie makers. Blocking a shot for a still picture effectively ruins the picture 100%.

Moving for a brief moment in front of person shooting video is only a momentary matter and kind of reflects the ambiance of the location.

As for sound, I think it is a bit arrogant to think that others enjoying the event around you are expected to shut up just so you can have a nice bit of film. Indeed, like movement, to me it adds to the ambiance.

Ah. Gotcha. Well, still have the red one and unfortunately count the weeks between outings with work being what it is. Hope all is well your end. Can't remember the last time I scared the wollies up the beacons. Sounds a bit phnar phnar that.

I note (apart from the bloody big ship that is the subject of your clip) the despoiling of the countryside views in the background by fvcking windmills grumpy
