read a lot of rumours (because that is all any of this is) that this is essentially a look tough measure and in 3 years when things are looking rosy again the subs will revert back to being treasury funded and all will be well again...

hopefully this will be the case but history has a knack of proving this all wrong...

You mean Officers then, lol.


You see 'new' 'leaner' (read - cheaper) measures put in place all the time usually to satisfy some top brass and get someone promoted, 2years later system in place - shock horror it doesn't work but said officer has since been promoted and moved on so doesn't give a toss. hmm.

On a serious note, If the tornado was to fall from grace it'd be a big shame as first and foremost its the RAF's most stable and capable weapons platform and its got alot of gucci upgrades coming to really make the most out of it in afghan, especially in the form of spear and scot.
