Nothing fancy, but they held the inaugural Rolls-Royce themed Merlins, Motors and Spitfires day at Duxford on Sunday, so I took the family in the Lotus. The day started OK, then the heavens opened at lunchtime, but cleared for the afternoon displays. Good to see the Blenheim and Beaufighter restorations too. There were a couple of trailer-borne exhibition Merlins as well, which were deafening up close.

We were directly at the centre line of the display and would have all our friends and relatives round to sit and drink/eat make merry on our balcony as the airshow panned out directly in front of us. One inadvertent squeeze of Harrier cannon and we'd all have been swiss cheese! Nimrod, lovely old bus, I worked on those for 9 years

Oystercatcher said: Sywell Airshow today. There's a few more on my Flickr page (If anyone can ID the Spit I'd be grateful - The Grace Spitfire was there but I've not got a good enough shot) Nice shots, loving the Cat, saw it at Duxford earlier this year, lovely machine. The Spit looks like the BBMF's PRXIX. The little camera window in the fuselage indicates (to me) a PR
