Some 'shopping' but not faked then.
I thought the light on the upper surface of the fuselage didn't tally with the available light direction but as he has been playing with the effects I see it can be 'for real' after all.
Still a cool picture, thanks for getting him to clarify it.
I like it

Wow awesome photo do you have a link to a high res version of that pic? Always been a fan of Lightenings, cribbed this photo from the now defunct Thundercity website who used to operate 3 of them out of Cape Town for private charter flights.
And a bit of an oddity spotted on Sao Tome & Principe (a small island nation off the coast of West Africa). A run down Lockheed Constellation that had been converted into a restaurant:

That's correct, there were 2 of them. In the pic I managed to take of the restaurant one in '06 you can see the other one in the back ground. I'm sure there is a colourful history behind them ending up there. http://www.conniesurvivors.com/CF-NAL.htm

Did a bit of reading up on them. Towards the end of the Nigerian civil war caused by the South Eastern part of modern Nigeria attempting to become the independent "Republic of Biafra" the aircraft were supplied in a round about way by Canada through NGO's when it became apparent the attempted secession was a failure and used in the "Biafran airlift".
Their stated purpose was humanitarian relief evacuating refugees and dropping off relief supplies for the Biafran movement who were supported by the USA(they used the Red Cross to provide "supplies"), Canada and France amongst others so no doubt their cargo of food, medical supplies and doctors was supplemented with plenty military hardware.

Pretty sure they're not defunct. They've just returned one of the other Lightnings to flight.perdu said:

As Flickr seems to have monumentally screwed up its new system it doesn't seem to let me embed images or anything..
