I cam across it because I was curious about whether the ill fated AFVG project for a long range fighter with carrier capability could have produced a Tomcat rival. Apparently it did. LTD got variable geometry expertise from Dassault which they had got from the AFVG and used on the Mirage G.

That mockup is basically a Mirage G which in turn is essentially an AFVG, hence the French style air intakes.

The only other Western aircraft with the same configuration, tandem seats, swing wing, single tail, is of course the Tornado. Also developed from the AFVG.
