Great photo. But 1968? Was a defiant and wellington still flying in 1968??
Or Tempest? Most likely a show of all the RAF's assets including museum pieces
The RAF had a number of aircraft in store for the planned, but not yet built, RAF Museum at Hendon. These were brought to Abingdon for the review. After the show they were put back in store. The museum was officially opened in 1972.
Most of the historic aircraft on display at Abingdon are now either at Hendon or Cosford. The Wellington is currently in a dismantled state at the Michael Beatham Restoration Centre at Cosford and it will be there for a few years whilst it is completely refurbished.
mea culpa too GG
I couldn't remember what the name of the Beagle was, then drifted off looking along the line and totally forgot about the wee beastie
I think we, "hidetheelephants" and I covered that Hoverfly with the Sikorsky R4 mention
(Proper piffed off about forgetting the Basset though...)

Another Canberra (A T.11 I think) and the Hurricane
I'm not sure it's a T11, it looks rather like a T17 on my screen.I will never know given my bad eyes and small screen
Not as I'd worry anyway
