Cheers, Seems to have failed to meet projected performance, but I see the heritage of the Aircobra in it

(scratches chin) Photographer must've had a f*cking big flash to illuminate the underside of Concorde...

The picture is a "mock up" but the event was real. I remember seeing items about the "shadow chase" on the news at the time.

The good-old, bad-old days when we had fixed wing carrier aviation with some reach and the ability to thump things properly when they got there; I've not seen a pic of a Buccaneer with a buddy pack before.

Nice - remember when a mate and I popped up to Lossiemouth for the 8 Squadron 70th in 1985 - There were representative from various Air Foces / Navies own 8 Squadrons. P3's, G91Y's, Piaggio PD808 and there a multi Shackleton (AEW) fly past, along with a B52 who happened to be in the area. The air and ground were shaking smile

Talking of V-Bombers, I had not heard of the Short Sperrin before today. Looks rather cool with the stacked engine arrangement.

That pic shows it when it was being used to test the Gyron engine, with one Gyron replacing the lower Avon in each nacelle. Original dual Avon nacelle looked like this...
